Introduction about Protecting Grade of Handheld Terminal

IP protection grade is one of the most important standard of industrial handheld terminal, it contains dust protection, external invasion and waterproof grade. IP protection grade is made up by two numbers, first number means grade of dust protection and external invasion grade; second number means airtight degree, such as waterproof.

First number of IP protection grade

0:No Protection.Can not avoid the outside damage;

1:Avoid external invasion with diameter more than 50mm.Protect parts away from external things which with big size;

2:Avoid external invasion with diameter more than 12.5mm.Protect parts away from external things which with middle size, such as fingers;

3:Avoid external invasion with diameter more than 2.5mm.Protect parts away from external things which with diameter more than 2.5mm, such as wire;

4:Avoid external invasion with diameter more than 1.0mm;Protect parts away from external things which with diameter more than 1.0mm;

5:Avoid external invasion and dust.Protect parts away from external things, but not avoid all dust;

6:Avoid external invasion and dust.Protect parts away from external things, included all dust.

Second number of IP protection grade

0:No Protection.Can not avoid water;

1:Avoid water drop.Protect electronic parts away from water drop;

2:Avoid water drop, with 15 degrees tilt.Protect parts away from water drop, with the 15degrees tilt;

3:Avoid sprayed water.Protect parts away from rain of sprayed water with  less than 60degrees;

4:Avoid spattered water.Protect parts away from spattered water with any angle;

5:Avoid the injection of water.Protect parts away from injected water with any angle;

6:Avoid water in big waves.Protect parts away from water in big waves, such as the handheld terminal in deck of ship;

7:Avoid water when flooding.Protect parts away from water when flooding;

8:Avoid water when sinking.Protect parts away from water when sinking.
